Travel specialist to put Holidays First in Barnsley
A new direct travel business is to be formed at Great Cliffe Court, Dodworth, Barnsley providing over thirty jobs across the region.
Wakefield-born Claire Willoughby is to start up her own travel business, Holidays First. The venture will focus on providing a direct holiday service for customers across Yorkshire and throughout the UK. In total, more than 30 jobs will be created when the business opens its doors at the beginning of April. The team will be made up of managers, customer support staff and around 20 specialist travel advisors, and the company will offer a complete travel service by telephone – thus keeping overheads low and holiday prices down.
Commenting on the launch of Holidays First, Claire says: “Some people think I’m crazy starting a new business in the current economic climate, but travel is my passion and as Holidays First is based on a successful and proven business model I’m convinced it will be a success.
“I’m assembling one of the best teams in the business, all of whom share my love of travel and knowledge of the market. And equally importantly, they are driven by a desire to delight each and every customer.
Holidays First will be a member of The Freedom Travel Group which provides its members with the required ABTA and ATOL bonding necessary to protect customers monies in the event of any travel supplier failing.
Claire said “We are delighted with Great Cliffe Court as the new home for the business because of its excellent location close to the M1 making it convenient for the companies field based staff. It offers the right space in a modern environment that ideally complements the new business”
The business will be based in the first floor of Copia House which is owned by Reed Smith Accountants. Lee Smith said “We are pleased to have agreed the lease with Holidays First and wish Claire and all her team every success with the new venture”
The lease was set up by Commercial Property Agents Chris Rowlands & Co. Chris Rowlands commented “Great Cliffe Court has proved to be very successful. In a relatively short time it has been occupied by a variety of businesses creating several jobs to boost the local economy. It is especially pleasing to deal with new businesses like Holidays First. Claire’s enthusiasm for the business is tangible and I am sure she will do very well”
