Rural Offices at Bullhouse Mill provide new base for expanding Leeds Insurance Brokers
JM Glendinning is an independent insurance brokerage, established in 1972 and is one of the leading Independent Brokers in the Yorkshire region. Already well established in Leeds the company have recently moved into offices at Bullhouse Mill, Millhouse Green, Penistone. The firm needed to open an office to serve an expanding client base in the Sheffield, Huddersfield and Barnsley area as well as across the Pennines into Manchester.
After conducting a search for offices in the Barnsley area the firm identified Bullhouse Mill as the ideal location.
Bullhouse Mill which dates back to the 17th Century has been in family ownership for many years and has been transformed into an attractive rural Business Park by its owners Booth Brothers, who operate their own promotional merchandise business from the site.
Mark Browne, Director of J M Glendinning said “We have identified that the outer South Yorkshire regions are presently under resourced from an Insurance Broking point of view and that there is a need for a provincial Independent Commercial Insurance Broker like ourselves to have a presence in this area in order to provide clients with a local face to face professional service. We were attracted by the quiet, yet highly accessible location which for us is ideal as it is at the heart of our expanding client base. It is a privilege to be able to work in such attractive surroundings and the offices are full of character. We are confident that our business will flourish and we are delighted with the move”
The offices themselves have been extensively refurbished having formerly been the stables for the old corn mill. The main contractors were Taylor Construction of Barnsley who delivered the project on time and within the agreed budget.
Charles Booth of Booth Brothers said “Over the past twenty years or so we have quietly been developing Bullhouse Mills to create a small business park to serve the demand that is otherwise not catered for in the rural hinterland between Penistone and Huddersfield. We have accommodated many businesses over the years including Nigel Tyas Ironwork, Bryella and Little Trekkers and we are pleased to welcome JM Glendinning”. |
