Green Lights for Scarborough

A Scarborough- based manufacturer and distributor of energy saving light products is expanding after securing a £60,000 loan.

MG Electrical has moved to Orchard Court, Dunslow Road, Scarborough and will be increasing its presence as a supplier of green electrical solutions following the loan agreement with Partnership Investment Finance.

The company specialises in energy saving lighting products for offices, hospitals, retail areas, schools and other commercial buildings.

Its range of products includes the 8 to5 Energy Saver which adapts standard strip lighting fittings to take energy saving fluorescent tubes, removing the need to install new light fittings and reducing energy consumption by 45 to 65 per cent.

Following the loan the 8 to5 Energy Saver will soon be installed in Leeds Hospital Trust buildings, Marks and Spencer, NcNaughton Paper Mills, Asda and in secondary and primary schools in Yorkshire.

Graham Leake, Partnership Investment Finance senior lending manager said: "In spite of the credit crunch we are still keen to support businesses that have a compelling business proposition like this one.

"MG Electrical managing director Ron Deakin said: "This backing underscores the quality of the product we deliver and PIF's investment will help us develop our business further."

The move to Orchard Court was facilitated by Chris Rowlands & Co. Chartered Surveyors who have represented the buildings owners, Forge Estates for several years.
