Swedes grow at Shortwood
Talurit, a Swedish manufacturing company, has become the first occupier to move into the recently completed high quality industrial development at Shortwood Business Park.
Talurit manufacture mechanical splicing systems for use in industries such as oil and construction, theatres and playgrounds.
The company now occupy a 10,000 sq. ft. unit at Shortwood Business Park, developed by regeneration specialists Priority Sites. The development is ideally located just off junction 36 of the M1 motorway providing links to the major cities of Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester and London.
Announcing the company’s £1 million investment, Neil Cooke of Talurit, commented “When making the decision to relocate our business we wanted to remain in Barnsley as it provides us with excellent transport links making it easier to access some of our major customers. The unit at Shortwood Business Park will provide us with a facility in which our business can continue to expand which should result in new employment opportunities in the future.” |

The second phase of development at Shortwood Business Park comprises 63,000 sq. ft. of high quality industrial units ranging in size from 4,000 sq. ft. to 10,000 sq. ft. suitable for a wide range of businesses and operations, from local companies wishing to expand, to firms from outside the region requiring convenient motorway access.
Lee Buchanan, Priority Sites, said “We are delighted to have agreed this deal with the Swedish company, Talurit. We are confident that this will be the first of many deals agreed at Shortwood”.

Talurit will be joining other firms such as Monarch Indexing, Majestic Showers and Millbrook Healthcare, who are all now trading from the business park.
